Purpose
of Practicum
SEA-Teacher program to develop teaching skillis and pedagogy for
the student teacher. It also can increase English skills because we uses English
language. Student teacher also can compare the education system between two
countries. And can interact with local people also looking for the other
culture.

Procedures
of Practicum
In this program held for 4 weeks, and every week we had a schedule and
we must follow it. After we arrived in the city. We should get orientation and
observation. In the first week we must adapting with the culture and system in
the school and try to make first lesson plan and instructional materails. In the
second week we observed the class to analyze the system that teachers used. In the
third week we did practice teaching to implement what we got from the previous
weeks. We made 20 lesson plan for 20 hours teach in class and it should have
different activity and strategi. In this week also we got monitored by
supervisor for two times. In the last week the supervisor gave a evaluation,
suggestion and helped us to improve the teaching skill.

Outcomes
of Practicum
After we finished our schedule and practicum, we got many
experience; culture, local peple, food, etc. Yess, the experience are very
helpful in the future. And the big impacts are we can improve English skill and
also improve teaching skill. We also can make lesson plan because we made 20
lesson plan. And the end of this program we should make a self report, and it
was a big challenge because we should write in the English language.

The Challenges of Practicum
I had many challenges that I faced during this practicum, when we
got oriented I just wondered what if I cannot finsh it, what if I cannot teach,
what about the student’s respons. But I still believe if I can pass it, and
goinf tothe first time I did practice teaching. Yes, I got nervous in a few
minutes because the students jus looking at me. But after I got my confidence
back I can handle it, I can manages the class and finish my lesson. and I should
make sure that the students understand with the topic. The other challenges is
to make a lesson plan, to be honest I never make a lesson plan but we should
make it. So, we tried to make it and we can finished it. Also in the language,
the students some times asked me with tagalog language and I just confused what
is the meaning, but the other students help to translate it to English. It was
very challenging. I will nor forget the moment that I taught in here.

Overall Impression
Because it is the first time I got abroad to the other country so I
felt nervous. I worried about the language, food, weather, local people and it
makes me dizzy. But when I arrived, I did not worried anymore because the professor,
friends, and buddies help a lot.the weather in baguio city is very cold it
about 10-15 degress/celcius and make me freezing at the time. Also I got challenges
when did practice teaching for the first time, a little bit worry about the
students’s responses but when I am in the class I got my confidence back
because a good behavior of the students. And the most important is food. Actually
I like spicy food but in here is difficult to find a spicy food but it still
okay because I bought chili at the market and cooked by myself hehehe.
6.
Suggestion
for Suture Improvement
The SEA-Teacher is very good program. Because give us the
opportunity to improve all of our skills, and to get many experiences. I hope
this program will continue and still exist because I felt it, I felt the big
impact of my self and I want the other students can get change to be a student
teacher in other country. And maybe SEAMEO can add more time for students
teacher to feel the culture and take a rest because in the four weeks students
teachers just have 1 day to rest and get a culture tour.
